Are you successful? Do you set your mind all the time to achieve success and be successful? Well, success is something that is dependent on each individual. It is something each person defines for themselves and is not fixed. Something could be considered as a success for one person, while for someone else it may not have the requirements or characteristics of success for them. Let me give you a simple example.
A person may be interested in sports and becoming a professional athlete and so could consider this success for them. However, a friend could come along and appreciate what the other person is doing but might not be interested in sports and thus, does not define it as success in his dictionary. This is the beauty of success. You can define whatever you want as success; as long as it is of importance to you and that you are looking forward to achieving it.
Here are 3 tips to prepare for success:
1. Keep The End In Mind
Do you keep the end in mind after setting a goal? What does that even mean? Well, keeping the end in mind means that you set a goal and then imagine yourself achieving this goal and your situation or condition then.
So let’s say you would like to be the CEO of a company or maybe start your own company. You would picture yourself a CEO and start working backwards, taking the steps needed to reach that goal. This is important because if you do not have or lose sight of your goal and what it feels like once achieved, you might lose focus and interest and might end up piling that goal on your to-do-later shelf.
2. Identify And Motivate
For those of you who follow tip #1 above, you probably have already defined your goals and dreams. However, if you have not done so, you need to start with defining your goals and dreams; your success. What is it that you really want to do in life, what are you interested in, what are you passionate about? These are just simple questions that help you locate the things you know as success.
The next step is the motivation. Why do you want to do what you set your mind to? What is it that is pushing you and making you want to do this task or activity so bad? This is something else we need to focus on to keep us going and moving forward.
3. Be Prepared
After you have set your goal and mustered the necessary motivation to achieve your goal you are initially set. Next, we need to prepare for our goal. You need to be prepared for both sides of the scheme. Are you prepared? Are you prepared for the best and worst outcome?
We always wish to achieve our goals easily and have the best outcome prevail. However, we also need to have a backup plan and be prepared for the worst. This way if this happens, we are not surprised and have the necessary background and tools to adapt.
Overall, success is something that brings joy and excitement to us and is something we wish we could achieve every day. Always remember though to be prepared for the best and worst situations.
