Minority Report Comes to Life, Google, Coca Cola and Pepsi Fighting for This Technology

minComputer screens that look straight out of a science fiction film where images are suspended in mid-air could soon be in our homes. The new technology allows 3D images to be projected on to sheets of mist to create a hologram-like illusion. This enables people to experience the technology without using special glasses, and the system has already been snapped up by Google, Coca Cola and Pepsi.

minnThe screen works using intuitive functions such as pinch and zoom like a regular touch screen. And Mr Kamanin says that he hopes to explore scent in his designs to offer a multi-sensory experience. He said: ‘I realised that everything already exists in nature and everything that people create comes from nature: we just need to watch it and you will soon get your answers.’
