See A Buka (Local Restaurant ) In Enugu Popularly Called Open Sheraton’

buka2Welcome to Enugu state Nigeria’s Local Restaurant ‘’Buka’’ popularly called Open Sheraton, the amazing thing about this Open Sheraton, is the Buka doesn’t operate during the day, only at night from the hours of 8pm – 3am, the humble lady who runs this Buka, had discovered a niche in the market for midnight food, yes you heard me right e.g. (late worker, clubbers, emergency food etc) In this busy city of Enugu and took a hold of that market for years. She sells over 1,900 plates of food daily, I had the pleasure of visiting this place, and I must confess, I was on the queue for close to an hour waiting for my turn ’’ Menh! It was exhausting but when it finally got to my turn, Oowh! it was such a huge relief.

Looking at the variety of local food displayed, suddenly I became confused on what exactly to eat, finally I settled in for a plate of Jollof rice with fried plantains mixed in pepper sauce and a piece of Chicken. Although I was told that recently competitors are beginning to emerge to fight for a share of the market as well. But it left me thinking how this humble lady had enjoyed monopoly of the un- seen market which many wouldn’t want to relate with and racked in millions of Naira for herself .
